Jazz students of the Royal Conservatoire performing live on stage in Studio 1 at Amare

The KC Jazz Writing Camp closing concert is a jazz concert in Studio 1 at the Royal Conservatoire in Amare, The Hague. The programme features brand-new compositions by students who spent a month collaborating and experimenting under the guidance of guest teachers from the professional music world.

A month of composing, testing ideas and refining them, followed by performing everything live for an audience for the very first time. That is the essence of the KC Jazz Writing Camp. Students of the Royal Conservatoire work on their own music during KC Jazz Writing Month, guided by guest teachers active in the professional field. The ideas they develop during those weeks are heard for the first time at this closing concert.

New jazz from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague

The closing concert gives an honest picture of how music is made: personal, sometimes unexpected, always evolving. The students perform their own compositions and share what drove their creative process. That makes the evening more than just a concert, it is a snapshot of artistic growth. Studio 1 at Amare provides an intimate setting that suits the direct connection between creator and audience.
