An evening of exceptional pianistic talent and compelling musical contrasts awaits in this edition of Rising Stars.

Rising star

Artur Buskov is a Ukrainian pianist born in Odesa in 2001. He began his musical education at the P. Stolyarsky Odesa Secondary Specialized Music School, continuing his studies at the M. Lysenko Kyiv Specialized Secondary Music School and the National Music Academy of Ukraine, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree with a final grade of 100/100.

Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022, Artur moved to the Netherlands and was admitted to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied with Prof. Naum Grubert. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with a final grade of 10/10 and has been admitted to the Master’s programme.

In 2025–2026, Artur participated in the Artistic Enhancement Programme at the Davidsbündler Music Academy in The Hague, where he studied with Borys Fedorov. He has also participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists including Dmitry Alexeev, Mikhail Voskresensky, Eduard Kunz, Alexei Grynyuk, and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.

Programme

The recital opens with Shostakovich’s Prelude and Fugue No. 24, followed by Scarlatti’s Sonata in C-sharp minor, K. 247. The programme then moves into the dramatic and transcendent world of Wagner/Liszt’s Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde, culminating in one of the most monumental works of the piano repertoire: Liszt’s Piano Sonata in B minor.
