Changeling + Obsidian Tide + Hyla
Musicon in The Hague hosts a full afternoon and evening of progressive metal on Sunday 15 November 2026, featuring three acts: Changeling, Obsidian Tide and Hyla. Doors open at 15:00, with the first act starting at 16:00.
Progressive metal in its most expansive form: that is what Changeling brings to the stage. The project is the work of Berlin-based musician Tom Geldschläger, long known under his artist name Fountainhead. As a guitarist, orchestrator and producer, he has contributed to over a hundred releases, working alongside names such as Obscura, Belphegor, Defeated Sanity, Hannes Grossmann and Marco Minnemann. Changeling pushes those boundaries further: a sixty-minute concept album performed with members of Fear Factory, Alkaloid and Virvum, with elaborate orchestrations by a fifty-piece ensemble weaving together progressive metal, death metal, jazz fusion and world music. His fretless guitar playing provides a distinctive and unusual sonic texture throughout.
Obsidian Tide and Hyla at Musicon in The Hague
Israeli trio Obsidian Tide has been active since 2012 and released its debut EP in 2015. Since then, the band has built a body of work that balances technical complexity with layered atmosphere. Hyla completes the evening as the third act. For fans of ambitious, genre-spanning progressive metal, this triple bill is well worth the trip.
