Resilience
2 Nov - 27 Nov
Veerkracht is a free photography exhibition at Atrium City Hall in The Hague, developed by Zona Luma on behalf of the municipality of Den Haag. The exhibition gives four people the floor to speak openly about their experiences with financial worries, homelessness and mental health problems.
Behind every story of financial hardship, there is a person. Pieter, Steven, Jethro and Fleur are four of those people. They stepped in front of Zona Luma's camera and speak, through an accompanying podcast, in their own words about what they went through: the challenges, the low points and the dreams that kept them going. The combination of portrait photography and audio brings their experiences to life without oversimplifying them.
Veerkracht at Atrium City Hall
The exhibition is open to all visitors who want to stop by Atrium City Hall in The Hague. The themes, financial stress, housing insecurity, and mental health, are ones that play out in every city, yet rarely get a face. Veerkracht gives them one, and invites visitors to pause and look beyond the statistics.
