Niek & Guy - Legatum

Niek & Guy have built a reputation as versatile performers: they collaborated with the Ashton Brothers and reached the final of the Amsterdam Kleinkunstfestival. Legatum is their first major solo production, and an intensely personal one at that. The show is a tribute to their mentor and the tradition of magic he left behind. The two are searching for one last chance to look him in the eye, though the path there is anything but straightforward.

A wordless spectacle by Niek & Guy

The most striking aspect of Legatum is the complete absence of spoken language. Everything is conveyed through illusion, subtle mime, musicality and a touch of acrobatics. Acts follow one another at a rapid pace, keeping the audience constantly guessing about what is actually happening in front of them. It demands attention, but also rewards it: the audience becomes an active participant in blurring the line between fact and fiction.

Internationally acclaimed magic on stage

Niek & Guy have made their mark beyond the Netherlands too. As reigning Dutch magic champions, the duo has performed at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, one of the most prestigious venues for the art of illusion in the world. That international experience is evident throughout Legatum: the acts are tight, the timing precise and the surprises well-paced. Nostalgia and humour alternate, as do grandeur and intimacy.
