Every second and fourth Wednesday from September to June, free lunchtime concerts are held in the Gothic Hall. The concerts on the second Wednesday feature the Bätz organ.

Experience a unique lunch concert

The organ is played by organist Jos van der Kooy, accompanied by young and talented musicians. On the fourth Wednesday of the month, a chamber music programme is offered. These performances are provided by ensembles from the Royal Conservatoire.

The lunch break concerts last from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. and take place in the Gothic Hall at Paleisstraat 1 (opposite Paleis Noordeinde) in The Hague. Admission is free.

Location

The original idea for the Gothic Hall came from King William II, who wanted to display his collection of paintings. The Gothic Hall is now connected to Kneuterdijk Palace by a low wing, making it part of the Council of State. The Bätz organ is one of the most important features of the room, and musical performances are often held in the Gothic Hall.

The hall is located next to a garden that is open to the public all year round, a small remnant of the royal garden that used to extend much further. The entrance to both the garden and the Gothic Hall is somewhat hidden opposite Noordeinde Palace.

Accessibility

The Gothic Hall is easily accessible by car, tram and bicycle. There are many parking options in the area. The nearest car parks are Parking Noordeinde in Heulstraat and Parking Parkstraat in Oranjestraat. From Central Station, it is a 15-minute walk to Noordeinde. Several trams also stop at the Kneuterdijk stop.
