Crowd in front of the stage at Kade Rock festival

Kaderock is a pop festival held every June at Muziekcafé Musicon on Soestdijksekade in The Hague. This year's festival will take place on 5 and 6 June. Kaderock is known as small-scale but big. The festival is by now a household name in The Hague and its surroundings, but also attracts more and more audiences from the rest of the Netherlands. Kaderock promises to be another great addition to the Whitsun weekend!

The festival once again offers a diverse programme with artists from the Netherlands and abroad. The line-up includes established names as well as emerging talent from The Hague and beyond.

Friday: music from The Hague and the 80s

Friday focuses on recognisable music and local talent. Visitors can sing along to songs by Het Goede Doel, with original members Henk Westbroek, Toni Peroni and René Meister. Cabaret performer Sjaak Bral performs well-known songs from The Hague together with The Clarks.

The YourStage Challenge also takes place on Friday. During this talent competition, 25 school bands and rappers from The Hague compete for a spot on the main stage on Saturday.

Saturday: international acts and new talent

Saturday features a mix of musical styles. The programme includes Altın Gün, the Dutch-Turkish psych rock band that received a Grammy nomination, and the British electronic space-rock group Ozric Tentacles.

Other performances include The Hague reggae band Splendid, Rudeboy together with Geishas of Doom, and emerging acts such as Grote Geelstaart, Def and Dear Omen. Local bands Chattermag, The Bird Experience and The Prince Albert will also perform.

De Broeikas: art and experimentation

The festival site also features De Broeikas again this year. In this transparent greenhouse, artists experiment with technology, visual art and sound. The programme is curated by The Hague underground collective KRAKATAK and students from the ArtScience programme of the Royal Academy of Art and the Royal Conservatoire.
