Theatre maker Achref Adhadhi in an expressive movement during the toddler show Wonder

At Laaktheater in The Hague, theatre maker Achref Adhadhi performs the toddler show Wonder. For children aged 2.5 and up, he explores through physical and visual theatre what love really means: for a leaf, a tiny ant, your parents, or simply yourself.

Love is everywhere: in the smallest creature around the corner, in nature, in the people beside you. Achref Adhadhi takes the very youngest audience on a journey through all those different forms. Not romantic love, but the broad, everyday love that toddlers already know up close. Together with 2turvenhoog, he developed Wonder through artistic research: how do you make a 2.5-year-old feel what truly matters? The answer lies in movement, image and an installation environment that gently engages the senses.

Wonder blends physical theatre, dance and a visual installation into a whole made especially for the youngest visitors. Language barely plays a role: the show is designed as 'language no problem', so children who don't speak Dutch at home feel completely included. Achref communicates through his body and the space around him, making the performance accessible to toddlers from all kinds of backgrounds.
