Día de la Diversidad Étnica Y Cultural
Celebrate Latin American culture during Día de la Diversidad Étnica y Cultural, in and around The Hague’s Chinatown. The programme includes parades, music, dance, food and workshops.
What is Día de la Diversidad Étnica y Cultural?
Día de la Diversidad Étnica y Cultural, literally translated as Day of Ethnic and Cultural Diversity, is a Latin American cultural celebration. The event is linked to the Latin American day observed on 12 October.
The day starts in the morning with a musical boat parade. This is followed by a large walking parade from the quays, through The Hague’s Chinatown, to Rabbijn Maarsenplein.
What can you expect?
In the afternoon, there are five country hubs representing different parts of Latin America: Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Peru, the Dominican Republic and Cuba, and Central America.
The hubs feature music, dance, food and workshops. Various acts perform at Rabbijn Maarsenplein, where there is also a programme for young people.
