Three acts, one evening, no compromises. Musicon brings in a line-up on 5 August that will satisfy any fan of extreme metal: Belgian death metal force Carnation, opener Mancuerda and, closing the night, American veterans Misery Index.
Misery Index: death metal with a hardcore punk edge
Misery Index has been active since 2001 and has built an impressive track record since. With seven studio albums, a live record and well over 1,500 shows across 46 countries, the band has established itself as one of the most reliable live acts in the extreme metal scene. What sets them apart is their blend of death metal and hardcore punk: riffs that cut through, politically charged lyrics and a relentless pace. The current line-up features Adam Jarvis on drums, Mark Kloeppel on guitar and vocals, Darin Morris on lead guitar and Jason Netherton on bass and vocals. Their most recent studio album, Complete Control, was released in 2022 via Century Media, with a follow-up currently in the works.
Carnation brings old school death metal to The Hague
Carnation was founded in 2013 by guitarist Jonathan Verstrepen as a deliberate tribute to the death metal of the eighties and early nineties. The Belgian five-piece draws on genre classics and translates those influences into a contemporary sound. With Simon Duson on vocals, Yarne Heylen on bass, Bert Vervoort on guitar and Vincent Verstrepen on drums, the band has built a solid following across the European metal scene.

Mancuerda opens the evening at 20:00, Carnation follows at 21:00 and Misery Index takes the stage at 22:10. Tickets are available online; the online ticket shop closes one hour before the show. Door tickets are available while supplies last.
