Paardcafé: Nose Shop
On Friday 2 October 2026, alternative indie band Nose Shop takes the stage at Paardcafé in The Hague. The band performs their absurdist 'Egg-pop' without effects or embellishment: bone-dry, direct and to the point. Entry is free.
Nose Shop works exclusively with direct audio signals. SPD-pads, an eight-string bass and a baritone guitar, all DI connected, expose every sound completely. No reverb, no layers, no safety net. What remains is voltage, wiring and intention. The band describes itself as the natural enemy of shoegaze, and that comes through in every track.
Nose Shop and the philosophy of the bone-dry
Nose Shop's lyrics wander into idiosyncratic philosophy. Nietzsche winks, Marx mutters, Kierkegaard sighs. Together they form something like a seminar in a storage unit: free will, doubt, metaphysics and the quiet absurdity of existence. It sounds heavier than it is, because it's also just music to nod your head to. No sonic cathedrals, no excess. Nose Shop wrings out the moisture.
