Special summer tour: Flora Mundi exhibition and behind the scenes at the KB
Join a special English-language summer tour at the KB. Visit the exhibition Flora Mundi: In Search of Lost Voices and discover highlights from the national library.
This guided tour starts with an introduction to the KB, including a visit to the book stacks. Along the way, you'll discover highlights from the collection, remarkable stories and learn more about the work of the national library.
After the library tour, Esther van Gelder, curator of early printed works, introduces the exhibition Flora Mundi: In Search of Lost Voices. The exhibition features twenty historic botanical books about non-European plants.
Syrian designer Donea Almir also takes part in the tour. Her artwork, inspired by the historic botanical publication Icones Plantarum Syriae Rariorum by Labillardière, is part of the exhibition. During the tour, she shares more about her work and inspiration.
