Textiles as a language
4 Jul - 26 Jul
Discover Textiles as Language at Pulchri Studio. In this group exhibition, members of Pulchri Studio demonstrate how textiles can convey stories, identity and ideas.
Textiles are more than just a material. They have played a role in art, craft and culture for centuries. In Textiles as Language, participating artists explore how textiles can be used to tell stories and convey meaning.
The artists work across a range of disciplines and backgrounds. Some use textiles, thread, fabric and canvas as their materials. Others use textiles as a starting point for themes such as identity, tradition, care, the body and memory.
What’s on?
The exhibition comprises textile objects, paintings, installations and mixed-media works. Each work offers a unique perspective on the possibilities of textiles within contemporary art.
