Zuiderpark Live: Wolfmother
Rock
Wolfmother presents Rock Out at the Zuiderparktheater in The Hague: raw riffs, pure energy and British rock influences. Andrew Stockdale returns with an explosive new album.
When the world came to a standstill in March 2020 due to the pandemic, live music disappeared from the stage. For Andrew Stockdale, frontman of Wolfmother, this meant a creative explosion. From his home studio, he played all the instruments and worked on Rock Out, Wolfmother's sixth album. At a time when mental health was paramount, Stockdale used the healing power of rock 'n' roll as an outlet. Rock Out is a raw, energetic escape from the monotony of the coronavirus pandemic: from the British rock influences on "Feelin Love" to the introspective, riff-driven intensity of "Humble".
The album was recorded largely locally and intuitively, with live drums by Hamish Rosser and contributions from Paul Pilsnenks and Alexx McConnell, among others. Rock Out feels like an ode to the great riff masters of yesteryear, an imaginary stadium tour from 1982, captured in modern recordings and ready for the digital age.
