Vlaggetjesdag ('Flag Day') Scheveningen is an event that has been heralding the arrival of the Hollandse Nieuwe herring year after year. On this day, of course, this type of fish takes centre stage. But even for non-fish lovers, Vlaggetjesdag in Scheveningen harbour offers plenty to do with music, orchestras, bands, artists, old sailing loggers, miniature ships, round trips and various demonstrations.
Day full of activities
Flag Day Scheveningen is the annual event celebrating the arrival of the Dutch New herring. This day is not only about herring, but also offers a range of activities for young and old. Come and enjoy music, orchestras, admiral sailing, old sailing loggers, miniature ships, round trips and various demonstrations.
Every Flag Day attracts thousands of visitors to Scheveningen harbour. There is something for everyone to enjoy! Admire the impressive fishing ships and enjoy nostalgic Old Dutch children's games. In the Schevenings Tafereel and Dorp you will discover traditional crafts and rich history. And of course bite and test the new herring during Vlaggetjesdag!

Accessibility harbour
Scheveningen Harbour is easily accessible by public transport, car and bicycle. The quickest way to reach the harbour by car is via Prof. B.M. Teldersweg, President Kennedylaan, Houtrustweg and Westduinweg. Parking is best in the car parks at the harbour like Q-Park Strandweg.
If you come by public transport, you can choose between various tram and bus lines from The Hague Central Station and Hollands Spoor towards Scheveningen.
