This is the Privacy Policy of denhaag.com, the website of The Hague & Partners. We take care of the marketing of The Hague to put the city on the map as a tourist and business tourist destination. On denhaag.com (also referred to as “Website”) we provide visitors and residents with information about everything to do in The Hague.

This Privacy Policy applies to you when you use denhaag.com. Here you will regularly find new articles and videos about interesting activities, sights and events. You can also contact us via the Website, request an UITpas and sign up for our newsletter.

We use your personal data for various purposes. According to the law, we can only do that if we have a reason to do so, which is called a “basis”. 1. Visit the Website

When you visit denhaag.com, we process information to measure your interest in our Website, monitor usage, and to properly display parts of the Website. We process your IP address, which pages and parts of denhaag.com you visit, the browser you use and the time and date of the visit. We use cookies and pixels for this. The processing of personal data in order to make the Website function better and to monitor the web visit are necessary for the representation of our legitimate interests. We can also collect personal data by means of tracking cookies and pixels from third parties, which track your surfing behavior on the internet and / or measure the effectiveness of our advertisements. We also process your time and location data, but only if you have given permission for this. We use this information to make the Website more relevant to you, for example by showing a restaurant that is located in your area and that is currently open. The time and location information is only retrieved when you visit the Website. We store location data for a period of 30 days.

2. Newsletter and email tracking

Via our Website you can subscribe to our newsletter, in which we keep you informed of the best The Hague news and tips. We also promote products from our webshop and inform about changes in events. You can register here. After your registration you will receive an email to reconfirm your registration. If you subsequently indicate that you indeed want to receive newsletters, we will periodically send you the newsletter until the moment of unsubscribing. You can unsubscribe using the hyperlink at the bottom of each newsletter.

We have included a tracking functionality (pixel) in our newsletters. When you open the newsletter, we receive the following information: which browser and which operating system are used when opening the e-mail, IP address, e-mail address, subject and content (the number of links, text and URLs of the links ) of the opened email, when this email was sent, the number of links, text and URLs of the links you click. We can also see which browser and which operating system are used when opening the e-mail, the date and time when this happens, the number of times the e-mail is opened and when you received this e-mail. This is reflected in statistics.

We process your email address in order to send you an email. The Hague & Partners processes the other personal data mentioned here because it is important for us to continue to improve our emails. We process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest. We delete the personal data that we process in the context of e-mail tracking 1 month after receipt. We will delete the e-mail address and data to demonstrate that you have given permission to send the newsletter 5 years after unsubscribing from the newsletter.

3. Save and share your favorites

You can save your favorite articles or events via denhaag.com. By means of a cookie, we remember the favorites that you save when you visit the Website. The saved favorites list is linked to the device with which you visit the Website. For more information, see our cookie statement.

After you have saved your favorites, you can share this list with friends or send it to your own email address. Apart from the data specified in the cookie statement, we process the specified e-mail address. We need this information to send an email at your request with the indicated favorite items. The use of this personal data is necessary for the representation of the legitimate interests of The Hague Marketing Bureau. We delete the email address immediately after sending the email and do not use it for other purposes.

You can contact The Hague & Partners in different ways, depending on what you want to ask or discuss. For example, you can send an e-mail to info@denhaag.com if you have any questions about denhaag.com or want to highlight your cultural-tourist activity, and send an e-mail to partners@thehague.com as your partner want to be ours. If you contact The Hague & Partners, we will process the personal data you provide to us. The exact data depends on your question or request, but it can be, for example, your name, e-mail address, telephone number and the information you provide with your question. Even if you contact us by telephone, we will record information about you if this is necessary for handling your question.

We process the aforementioned personal data to promote the legitimate interest of The Hague & Partners: we ensure that we can handle your questions properly. We keep the personal data for 3 months after processing your question or request.

5. Participate in periodic promotions

From time to time we organize promotions such as competitions and requests to participate. In order to participate in these promotions, we will at least process your name, email address and telephone number. Whether we also need other personal data depends on the type of action. When it comes to a competition where open questions must be completed, we also use the answer you give to the open questions. And sometimes we ask for other information from you, for example when we want to send the price to you. In that case we also need your address.

We process the aforementioned personal data to process your participation and to follow up your submission, possibly by sending the prize you have won. Additional promotional terms and conditions, which we provide prior to the promotion, also apply to each promotion. We process this personal data because it is necessary for handling the promotion and therefore the agreement we have concluded with you. If we cannot use the personal data,

we cannot handle your input correctly. We keep the personal data during the promotion and for one month afterwards, unless we have to keep the personal data longer in the context of tax obligations on us.

6. Buy entrance tickets

You can buy tickets for certain locations and excursions via denhaag.com. We use a widget from an external ticket party to offer this functionality. The registration and payment of the entrance tickets is done through this party and the third-party service providers engaged by them. You will be automatically redirected back to denhaag.com if the order was successful or if the payment cannot be made. This external party is independently responsible for offering the functionality and the payment conditions of this party also apply to the order. We advise you to review the Privacy Policy of this third party service provider.

7. Other processing

The Hague & Partners also processes personal data to protect its rights (for example through a lawsuit or for debt collection claims) or if The Hague & Partners has to comply with a request from supervisors, tax authorities and investigative authorities. Examples are the Dutch Data Protection Authority and the police. We only do this if it is required by law or if it is indeed necessary to protect our rights. Access to your personal data
We appreciate the trust you place in us and we will therefore handle your data with the utmost care. We grant a number of parties access to your data. Below we list which parties these are. Our employees have access to your personal data, but only if they need the data to perform their function. For example, not every employee has access to the e-mail box where the completed contact forms arrive. In addition, employees of The Hague & Partners have signed a confidentiality statement.

2. Processors (parties on our behalf)
For some data processing operations, The Hague & Partners uses third parties that process personal data on our behalf (a processor). For example, we use external parties to host our Website, store and manage data, personalize DenHaagPas and carry out direct marketing activities (sending newsletters and creating e-mail campaigns). We always conclude a processing agreement with engaged processors.

3. controllers (parties we work with)
We also share personal data with service providers who are (partially) responsible for what they do with your personal data (a controller). An example is the administration office where we cooperate and parties that we engage in displaying and personalizing advertisements, for example Facebook. Because these parties are (partly) responsible for the processing of your personal data, they must inform you about this themselves.

We can also share personal data with third parties, including supervisors, tax authorities and investigative authorities.

Our Website contains many hyperlinks to third-party websites, for example if you want to buy tickets for certain performances or if you want more information about a location to stay overnight. By means of these hyperlinks you leave denhaag.com. We are not responsible for the content of these websites. These parties must inform you about the personal data they process about you.

Processing outside the European Economic Area The Hague & Partners tries to process personal data in the Netherlands as much as possible, but in certain cases also processes personal data outside the European Economic Area. For example, we use Google Drive. This party processes personal data worldwide.

To comply with EU international transfer legislation, this party is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield and the Swiss-US Privacy Shield. In addition, they can use standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions adopted by the European Commission. Your rights
If The Hague & Partners processes your personal data, you have the following rights.

Right of inspection.
You have the right to request access to the personal data that The Hague & Partners processes about you.

Right to be forgotten.
Under certain circumstances you also have the right to have your personal data deleted by us. This may be the case if the personal data is no longer needed for the purposes that we have mentioned in this Privacy Policy.

Right to rectification.
You can also ask us if we want to rectify your personal data, which means that we will correct incorrect or incomplete personal data from you.

Right to object.
You have the right to object to the processing of personal data if The Hague & Partners carries it out on the grounds of our legitimate interest. If your personal data are processed for direct marketing (newsletter), you can always object to the processing of your personal data.

Right to restriction.

In any case, we will respond substantively to the request within one month of receipt. We can also extend this period by two months, but we will inform you in that case.

The above rights are not absolute. This means that there are (legal) exceptions that apply to The Hague & Partners to reject the request. If we decide to reject your request, we will explain why. We may also request additional information to verify your identity.
