Market
On Saturday 13 December, Keizerstraat in Scheveningen will be transformed into a festive Christmas street full of activities from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. During Kerst in de Straet, you can stroll around, explore and join in the fun all day long. In collaboration with BIZ Keizerstraat, this event has grown into a new winter tradition by the sea.
Christmas market and activities for everyone
The Christmas market with local makers runs through the entire Keizerstraat and forms the heart of the day. You can find beautiful gifts and meet creative and artisan makers. There are also many activities for young and old. You can make a Christmas decoration, watch demonstrations of old crafts or have your portrait drawn as a Scheveningen woman or man. There is also a film screening about fishing. For children, there are fun craft activities, a treasure hunt and the chance to have their photo taken in Scheveningen traditional costume.
Live music and guided tours
Music from Pompage and the Dickens Trio, among others, will be heard throughout the street. There will also be various guided tours through Keizerstraat and you can attend a demonstration of Scheveningen traditional dress.
Evening programme in the Oude Kerk
In the evening, part of the programme will continue in the Oude Kerk. At 7 p.m., there will be a dance performance by Danskwartier Den Haag, followed by a performance by the Memories choir at 7.30 p.m. The day will end in De Maatschappij with the Scheveningen pub quiz Weetje Ietta at 8 p.m.
