Demon + Steelover
On Friday 18 September 2026, Musicon in The Hague hosts an evening of hard rock and heavy metal with two acts that have each carved out their own place in the history of the genre: British band Demon and Belgian melodic metal band Steelover.
Demon was founded in 1979 in Leek, Staffordshire, right in the middle of the first wave of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Singer and songwriter Dave Hill and guitarist Malcolm 'Mal' Spooner built a sound that combined raw energy with melodic and later progressive elements. After Spooner's death in 1984 and a split in 1992, the band reunited around 2001, with Hill as the sole original member. In 2024, they announced their new album Invincible.
Steelover in The Hague
Steelover hail from Liège and were formed in the early 1980s by Pat Freson, Mel Presti and Nick Gardi. With drummer Rudy Lenners and vocalist Vince Cardillo, the band recorded their debut album Glove Me, released at the end of 1984 via Mausoleum Records. The album sold over 400,000 copies and firmly established Steelover's name in the European melodic hard rock scene, making them one of the few Belgian bands of that era to leave such a lasting mark on the genre.
A night of heavy metal at Musicon
Musicon is The Hague's home base for rock, metal and related genres. The venue's intimate atmosphere puts the audience close to the music. Doors open at 20:00, Steelover and Demon take the stage at 21:00, with the show expected to end at 23:00. Tickets are available online until one hour before the start; after that, door tickets are available while supplies last.
