An evening of experimental music, improvisation and movement, where the architecture of the space is not simply a backdrop, but becomes an active part of the performance.

The evening opens with Lombardi // McEwan – Non-Zeibekiko, a collaboration between Italian dancer and mover Alessia Lombardi and Greek/Scottish guitarist, composer and electronic musician James A.-McEwan. Their work combines abstract movement with ambient, experimental guitar and live electronics. Inspired by the Greek dance Zeibekiko, Non-Zeibekiko explores ideas of solitude, ritual and individual expression through a loose and deconstructed physical language.

The second performance is Genius Loci + Daniel Bierdümpfl, a one-of-a-kind improvisational jazz project by Dutch musicians Wietse Voermans (reeds, FX) and Ruud Voesten (drums, FX), joined by Austrian guitarist and electronic musician Daniel Bierdümpfl (electric guitar, FX).

Genius Loci takes its name from the idea of the “spirit of a place”. The musicians use the architecture, acoustics and atmosphere of each venue as material for their music, allowing the space itself to influence the performance in real time. The result moves between quiet and intense, beautiful and abrasive, composed and improvised.

Throughout the evening, the audience is invited to move through the space rather than experience the performances from fixed seats, encountering the music and performers from different perspectives.
