Grafiekplatform has been organising Grafiekmaand every October since 2013. This year Philip Wiesman invited four fellow graphic artists to exhibit alongside him at Pulchri Studio, each bringing their own technique and visual language.

Colour etchings and woodcuts in The Hague

Roos van der Meijden studied at the Royal Academy in The Hague and presents her colour etchings here. What stands out is that she prints all her etchings in a single pass, giving the works a direct, fluid quality.

Marjolein Terwindt-Wetterauw, who trained at Academie Minerva in the early 1980s, works from a studio near Groningen. Her woodcuts draw on what surrounds her: the garden around her studio and the everyday objects inside the house. She sometimes works with two printing plates, but usually one is enough.

Wendelien Schönfeld studied at the Rijksacademie, in the years before the mid-seventies. Alongside woodcuts, she also shows a series of polychrome wooden figures, offering a broader view of her practice.

Lies Verdenius rounds out the group as a lithographer. Together, the five artists give a clear picture of the diversity within the graphic arts, from reproducible prints to unique objects.
