From 7 to 28 November, Pulchri Studio in The Hague will be celebrating travel and art. During the group exhibition ‘Travel on Paper’, various artists will be showing how they capture their travel experiences using pencil, chalk, ink and watercolour. From spontaneous sketches to colourful drawings: every artwork tells its own story.

A special exhibition full of travel sketches, drawings and watercolours

Whilst travelling, artists draw inspiration from remarkable landscapes, cities, people and everyday moments. Their drawings are often created on the spot, right in the midst of the surroundings they wish to capture. These spontaneous works of art offer a personal glimpse of what the artist sees and experiences at that very moment.

The exhibition ‘Travelling on Paper’ demonstrates just how versatile drawing and painting on paper can be. Using a variety of materials and techniques, the participating artists bring their impressions to life. It is precisely this direct approach that results in surprising details, playful compositions and personal stories.

Participating artists: Gerard Huysman, Gezien van de Riet (non-member), Ben Rikken, Michiel Schepers, Ton van Steenbergen, Bram Stoof (non-member), Alex Verduijn den Boer, Remco de Waard, Maarten Welbergen, Bert Welmers, Gineke Zikken
