Basily Gipsy Band - A Gipsy Christmas
Music, tradition and festive energy come together at this Christmas concert by Basily Gipsy Band at Musicon. The band, part of the well-known Basily Family, takes you through the rich sounds of Romani music: from elegant gypsy jazz to fiery Balkan rhythms and spirited Gitano melodies.
The Basily Gipsy Band has built a strong reputation through international performances. Their music draws from several traditions: the light, swinging style of French gypsy jazz as popularised by Django Reinhardt, the rhythmic force of Balkan music, and the fire of Spanish Gitano sounds. All of that comes together in one Christmas programme, with plenty of interaction and festive atmosphere.
Gypsy Wedding and culture on stage
One highlight of the programme is a musical portrayal of a traditional Gypsy Wedding. The band weaves stories and customs from Romani culture into live music, making this concert more than just a performance – it's a window into a vibrant cultural tradition.
