BECOMING A Pleasure Activist of Black Silk | Alejandra Ortiz is a queer performance evening at Zaal 3 in The Hague, part of the fluid series BECOMING, which offers a different perspective on identity and sexuality with every edition.
BECOMING is a series where no two evenings are alike. Each edition is its own bubble of intimacy, celebration, sensuality and dialogue, held together by glitter and vulnerability. In BECOMING A Pleasure Activist, everything revolves around pleasure activism: a movement that places joy, healing and happiness at the centre of change. The central question of the evening is how social justice can become the most joyful human experience, rather than just more work.
Activists, artists and community on stage in The Hague
Activists, artists and community members take the stage to share how they have found liberation through pleasure. Through art, music and storytelling, they show that joy is not a luxury but a collective force. The presentation is mostly in English (around 80%), with some Dutch and a portion that needs no language at all.
About the BECOMING series at Zaal 3
At BECOMING, more is more, vulnerability is strength and everyone is queer. The series deliberately creates breathing room for those who want to change the world differently. The line-up for this edition will be announced at a later date.
