Tō Yō performing on stage during a psychedelic rock concert

Psychedelic rock at Musicon in The Hague: Tō Yō and Z95 share the stage at this concert. Tō Yō, rooted in the Tokyo underground, and The Hague's own Z95 combine for an evening of experimental rock, kraut beats and bold rhythms.

Tō Yō is far from a conventional rock band. The group draws on the chaotic, genre-defying underground of Tokyo, moving freely between damp, doomy heaviness and lighter grooves with krautrock influences. Styles and influences are not carefully weighed but absorbed and reshaped through a psychedelic lens. Live performance is built around experiment: organic band sound, strong rhythms and a deliberate disregard for boundaries. During European tours in 2024 and 2025, the band played SonicBlast Fest and Freak Valley Festival, among many other shows. Their second studio album is set to arrive in autumn 2026, three years after its predecessor.

Z95 in The Hague: local krautrock as support act

Support comes from Z95, a band from The Hague that describes itself as 'reincarnated ex-personnel of an imploded submarine'. In practice, that means driving kraut rhythms, endless motorik beats and cosmic space sounds, a direct, relentless approach that sits naturally alongside Tō Yō's music.
