I Love the Seaside – Scheveningen Surf Film Fest
I Love the Seaside hosts the Scheveningen Surf Film Fest at Theatre De Regentes: an evening of surf films from around the world, live music, an expo with local designers and artists, food and drinks, and a prize lottery.
The Scheveningen Surf Film Fest is about much more than films. The selection spans the globe, covering surfing, travel, adventure, culture and everything in between. Sometimes funny, sometimes surprising, sometimes carrying a more urgent message – together the films paint a broad picture of what moves the surf world.
Between and after the screenings there is time for live music, drinks and food. Filmmakers will be on hand, so the conversation continues well beyond the screen.
Expo, artists and surf community at Theatre De Regentes in The Hague
The expo space – the former swimming pool inside Theatre De Regentes – will be home to local designers and artists. Expect a surfboard shaper, handmade changing ponchos, photography, bags, illustrations, and photo and travel books. Surfrider Foundation Netherlands and the Holland Surf Association will also be present.
A lottery with great prizes rounds off the evening. The surf community is tight-knit but steadily growing, and that growth is exactly what this event celebrates. Making new friends and reconnecting with old ones is just as central as the films themselves. The evening welcomes surfers and ocean lovers, as well as anyone curious about the world behind the waves.
