Aan het einde van de tijd
In Aan het einde van de tijd, director Kaya Korabiowska-Dean and actor Roman Derwig take audiences on a journey to the International Space Station. This personal and philosophical monologue about transience, climate change and the search for meaning takes place on 5 February 2026 at Zaal 3 in The Hague.
Roman isn't sleeping well. His thoughts circle and leap, never settling. The same dream keeps coming back: a high-speed shuttle pulling him away. Away from time, away from everything below. So he goes. To the International Space Station, 400 kilometres above a planet in flux. Floating in space, he asks questions that go unanswered on Earth too: how do you stay present when the ground beneath you is slowly shifting?
Kaya Korabiowska-Dean and Roman Derwig in Zaal 3 The Hague
Director Kaya Korabiowska-Dean (born 2000, the Netherlands) works at the intersection of contemporary text theatre and performance. She graduated from the Directing programme at the Academy of Theatre, and her perspective is precise: climate change not as political debate, but as emotional loss, something young people already feel before it fully arrives. Together with actor Roman Derwig, she brings that feeling to the floor of Zaal 3. No elaborate set, no spectacle, the power lies in the closeness.
A monologue about loss and a changing world
Aan het einde van de tijd isn't a show about facts and figures. It's about the stories people use to make the incomprehensible bearable. About grieving something that still exists, but that you sense won't always be there. Intimate, philosophical, and made for anyone who has ever lain awake at night wondering what the world will look like when they're older. The performance is part of Eten in Zaal 3.
