Eastern Neighbours Film Festival

The Eastern Neighbours Film Festival presents the best recent films from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, from countries with a small but powerful film industry.
These are films that cannot be seen in the Netherlands, or only to a very limited extent. Why Eastern Neighbours? ENFF aims to introduce Dutch and international audiences in the Netherlands to the film and culture of their eastern neighbours. 16th edition of the Eastern Neighbours Film Festival will take place from 27 November to 1 December 2024 at the Filmhuis The Hague.

Eastern Neighbours Film Festival (ENFF) began in the Netherlands in 2008 with the idea of offering Dutch and international audiences a unique insight into the cinema of their neighbours from Eastern and Southern Europe. This annual event presents the most recent, exciting and thought-provoking films from countries with a small but often powerful film industry, most of which cannot be seen in the Netherlands.

The film programme includes feature films, documentaries, short films and animations; most of the selected films are Dutch premieres. Each year, the film programme is accompanied by numerous side events designed to raise awareness and initiate new collaborations. The presence of prominent guests, directors, actors, producers and their direct communication with the audience makes ENFF an inspiring event for every participant and moviegoer. Through the films shown, thematic debates, master classes and exciting encounters with our guests, the festival creates a cultural arena where people can come together, engage, discuss and enjoy high-quality cinema.
