The Eastern Neighbours Film Festival (ENFF) returns! From 4 November to 8 November 2026, Filmhuis Den Haag will once again be transformed into a cultural meeting place. A selection of the latest and most acclaimed films from (South) Eastern Europe will be screened, many of which will have their Dutch premiere during the festival.
Groundbreaking stories and new voices
The seventeenth edition showcases award-winning and promising films, most of which are having their Dutch premiere. With urgent themes, new voices and in-depth panels, ENFF offers five days of film that transcend borders, cultures and generations.
Highlights from the programme
Shame and Money (opening film)
A farming family from Kosovo is forced to move to Pristina after losing its source of income. In the city, they face a difficult struggle to survive and maintain their dignity.
Until the Day Ends (closing film)
During the protests in Serbia, an anarchist student and a pro-government young man flee Belgrade together. Despite their political differences, they are forced to rely on one another.
Feature films and documentaries
Black Money for White Nights
An elderly couple secretly save money for a long-cherished dream holiday. When they lose everything to a scam, family conflicts and difficult choices come to light.
Desire Lines
A lonely man in Belgrade obsessively tracks the suspicious movements of his younger brother. His quest ultimately brings him closer to his own hidden feelings.
There are also sections for experimental cinema (Between Film and Art) and the New Talents Competition, in which eight debutants compete for the audience award.
