Watch English-language stand-up comedy featuring comedians from the United Kingdom and Europe. In this edition, Irish comedian Fred Cooke takes to the stage as the headliner, with Shaz Memon as the support act and Sharon Em as the host.
An English-language comedy starring Fred Cooke
The headline act for this year’s festival is the Irish comedian Fred Cooke. In his comedy, he combines music with physical humour and storytelling.
Cooke is active on the Irish comedy scene and has previously opened for comedians including Tommy Tiernan, Ardal O’Hanlon and Seann Walsh. He performs regularly at comedy clubs in the United Kingdom and Ireland, including The Stand, The Comedy Store, The Empire and The Laughter Lounge in Dublin.
Cooke also appeared at various festivals in the United Kingdom and Ireland. On Irish television, his appearances included The Fear and Republic of Telly.
Shaz Memon
The support act will be provided by Shaz Memon. This Dutch-Pakistani stand-up comedian lives in Amsterdam. His comedy involves audience interaction, stories and observations on topics including identity, immigration, heritage and city life.
Memon grew up in Pakistan, later studied in Australia and then settled in the Netherlands. In 2025, he won both the jury prize and the audience prize at the English Comedy Talent Award during the Utrecht International Comedy Festival.
He performs in comedy clubs in Amsterdam and has also appeared on stages in Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Austin and Stockholm, amongst other places.
Host Sharon Em
The presentation is in the hands of the Irish comedian Sharon Em, who hosts both shows.
The performance is entirely in English. There are two start times with the same cast.
