Unique guided tour of the Peace Palace
A few days a year, it is possible to visit the Peace Palace with a guide. During this tour, you will learn about the building, the institutions housed there and the works of art donated by various countries that adorn the palace. You will be taken through the Great Courtroom, the Small Courtroom and the Japanese Room, giving you an impression of the most beautiful rooms in the palace.
The Peace Palace is still in use. Guided tours are offered on a varied basis in connection with important visits and meetings. Tickets for a guided tour of the Peace Palace and the garden can only be purchased via the Peace Palace website.

Useful information about the tour
A ticket for this tour costs € 16.50 per person. Children under the age of 8 can join for free, with a maximum of two children per adult. This tour is not suitable for very young children. The tour lasts 50 to 60 minutes and is offered in Dutch or English. A group consists of a maximum of 20 people.
- Admission is only possible upon presentation of a valid passport or EU ID card/driving licence. This must be the original document; photographs are not accepted.
- All participants must pass through a metal detector gate. An exception can be made for pregnant women and people with pacemakers, and a hand-held metal detector is available.
- Bags, cameras and mobile phones are not allowed and can be stored in a locker in the Visitors Centre.
- The Peace Palace has limited access for prams, wheelchairs and walkers. Mobility scooters are not allowed.
- Tickets for guided tours are non-refundable.


Visitors Centre
The visitors centre is located next to the entrance of the Peace Palace. If you would like to learn more about the history of the Peace Palace and the international organisations based in this building, we highly recommend the (free) audio tour of the exhibition.
Carnegie Foundation
The Peace Palace, the surrounding grounds and the Library belong to the Carnegie Foundation. The main task of the Carnegie Foundation is to manage the Peace Palace, a recognised national monument, as well as possible and to be a good host to the international institutions based in the palace.
The foundation also promotes the organisation of seminars and other initiatives that promote the ideal of peace and is a member of the international philanthropic network of Carnegie institutions.


Garden tour Peace Palace
On Thursdays, you can regularly take a lovely walk with the gardener through the historic garden of the Peace Palace.
Unfortunately, this event has already taken place. A new date for the next edition is not yet communicated to us.
