Sound or Not festival
3 Dec - 6 Dec
Sound or Not is a four-day festival of experimental music and music theatre, organised and curated by Modelo62 and taking place in The Hague.
What is music, really, and where does it end? Sound or Not spends three days asking that question in a variety of ways. The festival draws inspiration from Boundary Music (1963), a text score by Japanese Fluxus artist Mieko Shiomi, which instructs musicians to produce the quietest sound possible. Working from that spirit, Sound or Not playfully yet seriously probes the limits of the audible.
Music theatre and experimental works
Over four days, Modelo62 programmes a mix of music theatre, works from the tradition of experimental music, and new interdisciplinary performances that emerged from collaborations between makers across very different disciplines.
The festival takes place at several locations across The Hague, including:
• Zaal 3, De Constant Rebecqueplein 20A, 2518 RA Den Haag
• SoundHouse, De Constant Rebecqueplein 20B, 2518 RA Den Haag
