Zzzahara
A music performance by singer-songwriter Zzzahara at Paardcafé in The Hague. The Los Angeles-based artist brings an evening of lo-fi, dreampop and slowcore, with songs from their fourth album 'Distant Lands'. Entry is free, but you need to claim a ticket in advance.
After three albums about love and reckless youth, Liminal Space (2022), Tender (2023) and Spiral Your Way Out (2025), Zzzahara takes a different turn. On 'Distant Lands', the singer-songwriter translates dreams about their late brother into songs dealing with grief, family trauma and addiction. It is their most personal work to date: raw, honest and without embellishment.
Distant Lands: lo-fi and cinematic
Produced by Casey Lagos, the album sounds both intimate and expansive. Lo-fi in texture, cinematic in feel. Zzzahara sings with stoic directness, no sentimental detours. The blend of dreampop and slowcore gives the songs a dreamy, languid quality that lends the heavy themes exactly the right weight.
