About Kompaan
Binnenhaven is the second location of Kompaan Brewery, a brewery from The Hague founded in 2015 by two friends who shared a passion: brewing unique, local beers. In the industrial setting of the Binckhorst, they brew characteristic beers from The Hague, which can be enjoyed at both their own tasting room and at Binnenhaven. The brewery is known for beers with distinctive names like Bondgenoot and Bloedbroeder. These beers are brewed just 5 kilometers away from Binnenhaven and are an integral part of The Hague’s beer culture that Kompaan proudly represents. Both the home base in the Binckhorst and Binnenhaven in the city center are perfect spots to experience these local classics.
Best Beer in the Netherlands
Kompaan has won multiple awards. One of its core-range beers, Bloedbroeder, was named the Best Beer in the Netherlands in 2017. This award was presented during the sixth edition of the Dutch Beer Tasting Festival held in the Grote Kerk in The Hague. The imperial stout from The Hague’s brewers had already won a Gold Medal in the Russian Imperial Stout category at the Barcelona Beer Challenge, and also took home gold at the Dutch Beer Challenge 2017. Kompaan Beers
Kompaan beers offer a wide range of flavors. Each beer brewed by Kompaan is crafted using a variety of malts and hops. The brewery has a handful of core beers in its lineup, from dry-hopped pilsners to imperial stouts with port. Every season, Kompaan releases a special seasonal beer. In addition to these, the local brewery produces unique special editions, barrel-aged on wooden casks. For these bolder and darker beers, they primarily use whisky, bourbon, or jenever barrels. These are often available in limited quantities, so be sure to visit one of Kompaan's bars regularly to discover new flavors.
High-End Pub Food
The barbecue-oriented kitchen at Kompaan Binnenhaven follows the same philosophy as their beers: craftsmanship and quality come first.The kitchen serves a high-end street food menu, made on a Kamado-style barbecue. The menu is enhanced each season with seasonal products.
Events & Groups
Weekly events are organized at the craft-beer bar in The Hague. Every Thursday, there’s a pub quiz for the wizards, and on Saturdays, there’s live music. On the last Wednesday of the month, there’s an Open Mic Night with a live band.

The large craft-beer bar offers space for groups of up to 100 people to enjoy the wide selection of beers, fresh burgers, nachos, or a generously filled snack platter.

The craft-beer bar is located on Torenstraat, right next to the famous coffee and ice cream parlor Florencia. Binnenhaven has seating for 100 guests, both indoors and outdoors.
