Free workout

The BeachClean & Workout is more than just a walk on the beach! It’s a free workout where you work together to create a cleaner beach, a stronger body and a clear mind. You combine picking up litter with natural movement — a boost for both yourself and nature.

What are you going to do?

Accompanied by a Pullka trainer and a Groene Strand guide, you’ll head out onto Noorderstrand in a small group. During the session, you’ll collect litter and get some exercise through Pullka – an innovative beach sport where you pull a sledge across the sand. Along the way, you’ll learn about coastal nature and gain an understanding of what washes ashore and what doesn’t belong there.

How and when can you take part?

There are sessions on Sunday afternoons. Click on this link to view the current timetable. You can sign up for one or more sessions. Venue: At the Beach Beach Pavilion (Strandslag 8)

After a brief introduction, choose one of the following options:

  • Pullka – Pull a sledge behind you using a harness. This option is ideal for those who enjoy an active challenge. If you like, you can do some extra strength exercises along the way.
  • Bucket & litter pickers – Enjoy a relaxing stroll along the beach whilst helping to keep it clean. Collect litter with a bucket and litter pickers and do your bit for a cleaner coastline.

Good to know:

Children aged 5 and over are very welcome, provided they are accompanied by an adult. The Pullka equipment can be used by those aged 16 and over.

This activity is free of charge thanks to The Hague City Council. Your contribution? A cleaner beach and a healthy dose of positive energy!
