Eliades Ochoa – ¡Como Nunca!
Music venue PAARD welcomes legendary Cuban singer and guitarist Eliades Ochoa for a live concert in the Grolsch Zaal. The show is part of his ¡Como Nunca! tour, a celebration of more than sixty years dedicated to traditional Cuban music.
Eliades Ochoa grew up in eastern Cuba and picked up the guitar at an early age. What followed was a lifetime devoted to son, bolero and guaracha, the roots of Cuban music. As a co-founder of Buena Vista Social Club, he helped bring those traditions to audiences around the world. The song 'Chan Chan' became his signature: a simple, swaying rhythm that touched millions of listeners across the globe.
Eliades Ochoa and his musical journey
Throughout his long career, Ochoa has collaborated with Ry Cooder, Toumani Diabaté and many other international musicians. Those partnerships earned him recognition at both the Latin Grammy Awards and the mainstream Grammy Awards. Yet he always stayed true to his roots: the guitar, the hat, and the authentic sounds of Santiago de Cuba.
