Harlott + Struck a Nerve

Harlott hails from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and delivers a sound rooted in 1980s Bay Area thrash, sharpened with Teutonic melody and a persistent edge of aggression. The band plays tight, fast and recognisable, with lyrics tackling war, religion and the human condition. Guitarist and vocalist Andrew Hudson, guitarist Leigh Bartley, drummer Glen Trayhern and bassist Tom Richards perform with precision and intensity. Their most recent record Detritus of the Final Age (2020, Metal Blade Records) proves that after four albums, the band is still pushing their sound forward.

Struck a Nerve at Musicon in The Hague

Struck a Nerve opens the evening with an approach as direct as their name suggests. The band combines a hard thrash foundation with hardcore energy, drawing from a wide list of influences: Sodom, Demolition Hammer, Power Trip, Enforced and Slayer all feature on their reference list. Their self-titled debut album, nine tracks of pure underground attitude, sets the tone for what they deliver live.
