Have you always wanted to give stand-up comedy a go? During this six-week Stand-Up Comedy Workshop, you’ll learn, step by step, how to write your own comedy set and perform it on stage.

Ready to find out if you’ve got what it takes to be a comedian? Take the first step towards the microphone.

Learn the basics

A good joke is more than just a funny idea. How do you build up a joke? Where does the punchline come in? How do you use pauses and timing? And what do you do once you’re standing in front of an audience with a microphone?

The stand-up comedy course covers various topics:

  • Writing jokes and coming up with strong punchlines
  • Stage presence and using a microphone
  • Timing and delivering jokes effectively
  • Connecting with the audience
  • Storytelling and using personal stories
  • Developing confidence on stage
  • Writing and refining your own stand-up comedy set

Over the course of six weeks, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to try out material, receive feedback and discover which style of comedy suits you best.

Learn stand-up comedy from professional comedians

The workshop is led by Nira Tal and Cidny Clementine, two professional comedians who share their knowledge and stage experience. From the initial idea on paper to the moment the joke lands with the audience: participants learn how stand-up comedy works in practice.

Write and perform your own comedy set

By the end of the workshop, you will have developed and refined your own stand-up routine. And then comes the moment everything has been building up to: the chance to perform your material live in front of an audience. In six weeks, you’ll go from an initial funny idea to your own performance, with greater knowledge, material and confidence on stage.

Places on the Stand-Up Comedy Workshop are limited. This ensures there’s plenty of scope for personalised feedback and gives every participant ample time to practise.
