Comedian Greg Shapiro performing stand-up comedy on stage

Stand-up comedy in English: Greg Shapiro brings his show King Me – 250 Years of Donald Trump to Theater De Veste in Delft. The Dutch-American comedian combines sharp Trump impressions, storytelling and political satire in one full evening programme.

On 4 July 2026, America celebrates 250 years of independence, and Greg Shapiro sees it as the perfect moment for a new revolution. In King Me – 250 Years of Donald Trump, the Dutch-American comedian cuts through the current political landscape: Trump in power, Europe torn between flattery and pushback, and world leaders bending over backwards to please.

Shapiro is no pessimist, even if it sometimes sounds that way. He also dares to look at the US with cautious optimism, predicting that Trump's authoritarian streak won't last, as long as Europe holds its ground. Mark Rutte calling Trump 'Daddy', Ursula von der Leyen saying 'Mama is angry': Shapiro covers it all. The Epstein files also make an appearance, as evidence that certain powerful figures are drawn to anything but strong, independent women.

Greg Shapiro in Delft: political satire with an American accent

Alongside the bigger picture, Shapiro prepares his audience for the 2026 US midterm elections, if they happen at all. And then there's his own predicament: as the man behind the Netherlands' most recognisable Trump impressions, he wonders out loud whether he'll ever be allowed back into the country of his birth. Or will ICE simply make him disappear?

King Me is a mix of stand-up comedy, storytelling and Trump-inspired improv. The show is performed entirely in English at Theater De Veste.
