Mantra Machine performing on stage at a psychedelic rock concert

An evening of psychedelic rock and stoner rock at Musicon: Mantra Machine and The Hague's own Ditch share the stage at this local venue on 9 October 2026. Doors open at 20:00, show starts at 20:30.

Mantra Machine makes music that pulls you in. The Dutch instrumental trio works without a vocalist, instead filling the room with layered guitar walls, a fuzz-soaked bass and drumming that alternately surges and drops away. Woven through it all are synthesiser textures that give the music a cinematic edge. These aren't straightforward rock songs – they're extended compositions that take their time to unfold.

The band made their debut at the UK's Sonic Rock Solstice Festival in 2012. Their 2014 album Nitrogen pushed further into sprawling, atmospheric territory, earning them spots at acclaimed festivals like Roadburn and Yellowstock. Following a line-up change in 2023, they're now building toward 'Echoes Forest', due in 2026. The album explores the rhythms and silences of ancient forests – more introspective, even more cinematic.

Ditch: stoner rock from The Hague

For Ditch, playing Musicon is practically a home game. Founded in The Hague in 2010, the band carved out a firm place in the local rock scene. Their music rests on the thick riffs of classic stoner rock, but the approach feels current: rhythmic, groovy and with enough energy to move a room. Old-school foundations, fresh momentum.

Psychedelic rock and stoner rock in The Hague

The pairing of Mantra Machine and Ditch on one bill is no coincidence. Both bands operate in the same heavy, rhythmic spectrum while bringing their own distinct character. Mantra Machine takes you deep; Ditch gets the room moving. If fuzz, groove and high volume are your thing, this is a night worth catching.
