For artist Natasha Tontey, the past is not set in stone; it is something that can be reimagined, reshaped and reconsidered – particularly where histories bring with them discomfort, suppressed knowledge and unresolved failures. By exploring these hidden layers, she creates space for alternative ways of ‘being’ in the world.

Three stories, three worlds

In the exhibition *Macho Mystic Meltdown: Subtracted Anthology*, Tontey weaves together her personal, colonial and ancestral histories, thereby creating three parallel worlds. Through fictionalised truths and speculative narratives, each video installation in the exhibition unfolds into three chapters of the *Macho Mystic Meltdown* series. As a visitor, you are invited into psychedelic, whimsical universes where identity becomes fluid, open to change and defies categorisation.
