IDOBATA Stories provides a platform for personal stories and encounters. In a cosy living-room setting, visitors come together to listen, share and discover new perspectives.

In a city full of different backgrounds and cultures, it is not always easy to really get to know one another. IDOBATA Stories creates a space for personal stories, open conversations and connections between people.

The concept is inspired by the Japanese tradition of the idobata, the meeting place around a well where local residents would gather to share their experiences. For this evening, the theatre is transformed into a cosily decorated living room with soft lighting and an informal atmosphere.

No grand stage or elaborate production, but a focus on the story and the human connection. Visitors listen to personal experiences and have the chance to be inspired by the voices and stories of others.

The evening will be hosted by Terra Norihiro Terazawa, a Japanese storyteller and theatre maker from The Hague. Through IDOBATA Stories, he brings people together around the power of stories and human connection.
