Zuiderstrand is one of the most beautiful parts of The Hague. Among Hague residents, it is also known as the Quiet Beach. And with good reason. It is the quiet - 'secret' - alternative between Scheveningen and Kijkduin, right behind the dunes, for everyone who loves the beach and the sea. You therefore see mostly residents of The Hague here - besides a few tourists who sometimes know how to find this place too.

Enjoy Zuiderstrand at it's best
In summer, Zuiderstrand is the perfect place to relax at one of the authentic beach pavilions with unobstructed views of a beautiful sunset. The beach bars here are praised for their friendly staff, delicious food and casual atmosphere.
Culture lovers are also well catered for here. Most of the beach bars regularly host shows and performances. At beach bar De Fuut, you can admire the Strandbeest by Theo Jansen. And if you are lucky, you might even get to see the artist himself at work.
Yoga by the sea
Near Beach Pavilion South, summer morning yoga classes are held on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. There is no need to sign up in advance. A lovely zen start to your day by the sea.
Water sports at Zuiderstrand
Zuiderstrand is a perfect place for water sports. From April to the end of September, the catamarans of the Haagse Kust Zeil Vereniging (HKZV) can be found at beach junction 10. Here, there is space for catamarans that can be moved to the waterline with a trailer.
