Exquisite shopping and princely refuelling

The royal couple is known to be lovers of shops and restaurants in The Hague. Explore the elegant boutiques and exclusive shops at Noordeinde. This chic shopping area offers not only a wonderful shopping experience, but also a royal atmosphere thanks to its proximity to the Noordeinde Royal Palace.

In addition, the historic Denneweg is a must-visit for those looking for antiques, interior design and trendy fashion. Here you will find a mix of classic charm and modern flair. Also don't forget to take a walk through the Passage, a covered gallery with a wide variety of shops.

After a morning of shopping, relax at one of the city's many cosy bars and restaurants. Enjoy a cup of coffee, a tasty lunch or a refreshing drink while you refuel for the rest of the day!

Watch the Glass Coach on Prince's Day

Prince's Day, this year on Tuesday 17 September, is the traditional start of the parliamentary year for the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament in The Hague.

Prior to the reading of the speech from the throne, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima pull up in the Glass Coach, followed by other important members, with a carriage ride from Noordeinde Palace via Lange Voorhout to the Royal Theatre.

Along the route, you can take a seat behind the fences and watch the carriage drive by. It is also possible to watch the Glazen Koets' carriage ride up close from a separate grandstand on Lange Voorhout.

From Central Station, there are two walking routes towards Lange Voorhout.

1. Central Station, Herengracht, Korte Poten, Plein, Korte Vijverberg, Lange Voorhout
2. Central Station, Turfmarkt, Kleine Houtstraat, Plein, Korte Vijverberg, Lange Voorhout
