How do stories shape the world we live in today?
With this question in mind, curator Co Knol invited artist Robin Whitehouse to explore the role of the artist in shaping, reflecting on, and questioning existing narratives—and how both artist and viewer can contribute to reshaping, rethinking, and passing them on. Robin’s work invites us to step into the layers of history, where forgotten fragments whisper stories of the past and challenge us to reimagine the future.

In anticipation of the Graduation Show from 2–7 July at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK), Buried beneath the ground and scattered across the soil — which will take place in the Atrium of the City Hall — offers a preview of Robin’s thought-provoking process, and aims to give an insight into what you can expect at the annual Graduation Show.

KABK invites you to interact with and learn from the outcomes of the more than 220 international graduates presenting their extensive research and processes during the annual Graduation Show. Ranging from photography to textile, artistic research, to industrial design, these makers question, wonder, and inspire global narratives that shape our daily life.
