A group of dancers in a studio, with one dancer in the center.

A dance performance about the concept of time, the present and the past, which continuously influence each other. Inspired by three Hindu gods.

About the performance

Time is not one thing: it is now, it is earlier, it is later, and everything continuously influences each other. And within that time, every action, every spoken word, and every thought influences a larger whole. In this performance full of symbolism and pulsating dance, we see dancers looking at time through the lens of an important principle in Hinduism: the Trimurti. Three gods who together form one ultimate reality of creation, preservation and destruction.

With Caught Again in the Net of Rebirth, this artist, originally from The Hague, envelops us in a layered story where past and present meet at ever-changing intersections. Dancers explore the possibility of abandoning their egos and showcase wonderful combinations of Bollywood, Bharatanatyam (classical South Indian dance), hip hop, locking and modern dance.
