City of the Future
What will living in the future look like? What makes a city sustainable, climate-resilient, and livable? From January 10 until February 5 you can visit the Atrium City Hall to admire a unique model: the City of the Future. This innovative project was designed by students from Maris College Bohemen, commissioned by the Municipality of The Hague in collaboration with the Geo-Information Department and discover how sustainability and livability come together in the cities of tomorrow.
What to expect
The City of the Future is an innovative vision of how modern cities can tackle major societal challenges. The design focuses on themes such as sustainable living, smart energy solutions, and climate adaptation. Highlights include:
- Green roofs and facades that contribute to a healthier climate.
- Smart water management solutions for extreme weather conditions.
- Energy generation using solar and wind power.
The students brought their ideas to life using advanced techniques, such as 3D printing. This project offered them a unique opportunity to contribute their creativity and knowledge to a social cause. For the municipality, it provided valuable insights from a fresh, young perspective.
