Release Tour "2 Pianosonates Op. 3"
Beethoven, Brahms en Schumann
On 11 April 2026, pianist and composer Ben van Daal will release his new album 2 Piano Sonatas Op. 3. His piano sonatas adhere to the traditional sonata form and draw inspiration from the Romantic period, for example the piano works of Beethoven, Brahms and Schumann. The two piano sonatas form a varied diptych, in which tranquillity and virtuosity alternate. These contemporary compositions are often based on improvisation. The characteristics of his instrument, the piano, always serve as the foundation for Van Daal's musical compositions.
In this concert series, Ben van Daal will not only perform the 2 Piano Sonatas Op. 3, but also his previously released 24 Preludes Op. 1. These short pieces, inspired by Chopin's Preludes, are both an exploration and a portrayal of the 24 major and minor keys.
