Thana Faroq - Open Letter “تمرد هادئ” (A Quiet Rebellion)
18 Jun - 13 Jul
Exhibition
Thana Faroq’s poem “تمرد هادئ” (A Quiet Rebellion) invites visitors into a personal reflection on memory, belonging, and quiet resistance. The Open Letter is written in the voice of the artist’s mother, recalling a childhood moment of brief, sweet escape from the sounds of war. Through details like the scent of henna, a child’s gaze, and the world outside a car window, this intimate letter speaks to the emotional weight of displacement and the strength passed from mother to daughter—a protest made of love.
For the vernissage on Wednesday 18 June at 17:00, Thana will be joined by her friend Randa Awad, a poet, whose presence will extend the letter’s themes into a shared space of words and witness.
