Youthful virtuosity in the spotlight

One of the highlights of the evening is pianist Simon van Prooijen, who shines as soloist in Rachmaninov's impressive second piano concerto. Simon won the regional final of the Prinses Christina Concours last year and once again shows his class. Led by conductor Sander Vredenborg, the orchestra will also perform a programme of music by Dvořák (the ‘New World’ finale), Shostakovich and Marquez.
