The Tommyrots + Sunday at Eight
Music
Live music at Popradar with pop rock band The Tommyrots and indie rock band Sunday at Eight. An evening full of fresh energy and new Dutch music.
The Tommyrots
Over the past two years, The Tommyrots have repeatedly proven themselves to be a serious contender in the Dutch pop rock scene for young and old alike. After winning the Peter Tetteroo Cup at Westerpop in 2023 and the Grote Prijs van Rotterdam - Audience Award, they once again got people talking and dancing in 2024 by being played repeatedly on national radio (such as YourSafe Radio and KINK) and appearing at many festivals (such as Mañana Mañana and Bevrijdingsfestival). In May 2025, they released their debut album 'Tommyrot' to a sold-out Hal015. This record received national attention on NPO Radio 5, regional support from RTV Rijnmond and was also promoted on several local radio stations.
The Tommyrots are making a splash with their incredible debut album 'Tommyrot'. Expect a varied record with both energetic and catchy rock and soft and sensitive ballads. An album with well-thought-out songs that all have in common that they could just as easily have been written in the 60s and 70s. All the songs have in common that they are pure and organic in origin and sound; made by humans for humans, as art should be. The aim of the album is to breathe new life into the human aspect of music. Fans of The Beatles, The Who, The Eagles, but also more modern bands such as Blur and Kaiser Chiefs, can look forward to thrilling harmonies, catchy melodies and luxurious arrangements.
Sunday at Eight
Sunday at Eight is an indie rock band from Leiden. The band seamlessly blends influences from the past with a modern indie rock sound. Their music is an exciting cocktail of danceable beats, crystal-clear melodies and raw, powerful guitar riffs. With this, the quartet creates an atmosphere in which nostalgia and fresh energy go hand in hand, and Sunday at Eight takes the audience on a musical journey through forgotten summer evenings that only end when the sun rises. In early 2025, they recorded a new EP, the first single of which will be released later this year.
