Timebox - Nederpop '64-'74
Pop
Timebox takes you on an unforgettable musical journey through the golden years of Dutch pop and beat music from '64-'74.
The Golden Years of Dutch Pop Music
After 10 years of meticulously reproducing the later work of The Beatles live, Jac Bico, Felix Maginn, Diederik Nomden and Jan van der Meij are looking closer to home with their next project. Together with drummer Kees Schaper and singer/guitarist Ralph Mulder, they will come to theatres in autumn 2025.
Under the name Timebox, they will pay tribute to the golden years of Dutch pop and beat music, from the rise of Beatlemania in 1964 to the iconic but also heartbreaking summer of 1974, when the Netherlands lost the World Cup final to West Germany.
This decade marked a musical revolution in the Netherlands: from the rough beats of Q65, Golden Earring and The Outsiders, to the harmonious Beatlesque pop of the Ro-d-Ys and Sandy Coast. It was also the time when symphonic masters like Earth & Fire set a new standard and (English-language) Dutch pop appeared on the charts far beyond the country's borders.
In a full-length programme, Timebox, together with a guest singer, will take the audience on an unforgettable musical journey through these magical years. With their signature authenticity and love for detail, they bring the rich sound of '64-'74 to life, letting you relive the energy and magic of this iconic era.
